But this I confess unto thee, that after the way which they call heresy, so worship I the God of my fathers, believing all things which are written in the law and in the prophets: |
“But this I confess to you, that according to the Way which they call a sect, so I worship the God of my fathers, believing all things which are written in the Law and in the Prophets. |
“But this admit to you, that according to the Way which they call a sect I do serve the God (the ancestral God) of our fathers, believing everything that is in accordance with the Law, and that is written in the Prophets; |
However, I admit that I worship the God of our fathers as a follower of the Way, which they call a sect. I believe everything that agrees with the Law and that is written in the Prophets, |
But this I confess to you, however, that in accordance with the Way [of the Lord], which they call a [heretical, division-producing] sect, I worship (serve) the God of our fathers, still persuaded of the truth and believing in and placing full confidence in everything laid down in the Law [of Moses] or written in the prophets; |
But I confess this to you, that in accordance with the Way, which system of believe they call heresy, thus am I serving the God of my fathers, believing all things which stand written according to the law and those things in the prophets, |
I will freely admit to you, however, that I do worship the God of our fathers according to the Way which they call a sect, although in fact I believe in the scriptural authority of both the Law and the Prophets. |
But I certainly admit this as a fact that in accordance with the Way – that they call heresy – I continue to worship the God of my forefathers, and I still believe in everything taught in the law and written in the prophets, |
