King James Version (According as it is written, God hath given them the spirit of slumber, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear;) unto this day. Phillips’ Modern English This is borne out by the scripture: God gave them a spirit of stupor, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear, unto this very day.	Williams’ Language of the People as the Scripture says, “God has given them over to an attitude of insensibility, so that their eyes cannot see and their ears cannot hear, down to this very day.”
