1 John 4:6

Greek/English Interlinear with Strong’s Numbers
1 Jn. 4 - Greek/English/Strong’s Interlinear

King James Version

We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.
New King James Version

We are of God. He who knows God hears us; he who is not of God does not hear us. By this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error.
New American Standard Bible

We are from God; he who knows God listens to us; he who is not from God does not listen to us. By this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error.
New International Version

We are from God, and whoever knows God listens to us; but whoever is not from God does not listen to us. This is how we recognize the Spirit of truth and the spirit of falsehood.
The Amplified Bible

We are [children] of God. Whoever is learning to know God [progressively to perceive, recognize, and understand God by observation and experience, and to get an ever-clearer knowledge of Him] listens to us; and he who is not of God does not listen or pay attention to us. By this we know (recognize) the Spirit of Truth and the spirit of error.
Wuest’s Expanded Translation

As for us, out of God we are. The one who is knowing God in an experiential way is listening to us. From this we know experientially the Spirit of the truth and the spirit of the error.
Phillips’ Modern English

We are God’s children and the man who knows God hears our message; what we say means nothing to the man who is not himself a child of God. This gives us a ready means of distinguishing the Spirit of truth from the spirit of falsehood.
Williams’ Language of the People

We are children of God. Whoever knows God by experience listens to us; whoever is not a child of God does not listen to us. This is the way to distinguish a true spiritual utterance from one that is false.
KJV with Strong’s Numbers

We 2249 are 2070 of 1537 God: 2316 he that knoweth 1097 God 2316 heareth 191 us; 2257 he that 3739 is 2076 not 3756 of 1537 God 2316 heareth 191 not 3756 us. 2257 Here- 5127 -by 1537 know 1097 we the 3588 spirit 4151 of truth, 225 and 2532 the 3588 spirit 4151 of error. 4106
