1 John 4:12

Greek/English Interlinear with Strong’s Numbers

King James Version

No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and His love is perfected in us.
New King James Version

No one has seen God at any time. If we love one another, God abides in us, and His love has been perfected in us.
New American Standard Bible

No one has beheld God at any time; if we love one another, God abides in us, and His love is perfected in us.
New International Version

No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and His love is made complete in us.
The Amplified Bible

No man has at any time [yet] seen God. But if we love one another, God abides (lives and remains) in us and His love (that love which is essentially His) is brought to completion (to its full maturity, runs its full course, is perfected) is us!
Wuest’s Expanded Translation

God in His [invisible] essence no one has ever yet beheld, with the result that no one has the capacity to behold Him. If we habitually loving one another, God in us is abiding, and His love has been brought to its fullness in us and exists in that state of fullness.
Phillips’ Modern English

It is true that no human being has ever had a direct vision of God. Yet if we love each other God does actually live within us, and His love grows in us towards perfection.
Williams’ Language of the People

No one has ever seen God; yet if we practice loving one another, God remains in union with us, and our love for Him attains perfection in our hearts.
