And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.

He was granted power to give breath to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak and cause as many as would not worship the image of the beast to be killed.

And there was given to him to give breath to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast might even speak (, and he will) cause as many as do not worship the image of the beast to be killed.

He was given power to give breath to the image of the first beast, so that it could speak and cause all who refused to worship the image to be killed.
