King James Version

But to him that worketh not, but believeth on Him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.
New King James Version

But to him who does not work but believes on Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is accounted for righteousness,
New American Standard Bible

But to the one who does not work, but believes in Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is reckoned as righteousness.
New International Version

However, to the man who does not work but trusts God who justifies the wicked, his faith is credited as righteousness.
The Amplified Bible

But to one who, not working [by the Law], trusts (believes fully) in Him Who justifies the ungodly, his faith is credited to him as righteousness (the standing acceptable to God).
Wuest’s Expanded Translation

But in the case of the one who does not work with a definite result in view [salvation] but who places his trust upon the One who justifies the person who is destitute of reverential awe towards God, there is put to his account his faith, resulting in righteousness,
Phillips’ Modern English

But if a man, irrespective of his work, has faith in Him who justifies the sinful, then that man’s faith is counted as righteousness.

but the man who does no work, but simply puts his faith in Him who brings the ungodly into right standing with Himself, has his faith credited to him as right standing.
