Matthew 9:17

Greek/English Interlinear with Strong’s Numbers

King James Version

Neither do men put new wine into old bottles: else the bottles break, and the wine runneth out, and the bottles perish: but they put new wine into new bottles, and both are preserved.
New King James Version

Nor do they put new wine into old wineskins, or else the wineskins break, the wine is spilled, and the wineskins are ruined. But they put new wine into new wineskins, and both are preserved.”
New American Standard Bible

“Nor do men put new wine into wine into old wineskins; otherwise the wineskins burst, and the wine pours out, and the wineskins are ruined; but they put new wine into fresh wineskins, and both are preserved.”
New International Version

Neither do men pour new wine into old wineskins. If they do, the skins will burst, the wine will run out and the wineskins will be ruined. No, they pour new wine into new wineskins, and both are preserved.”
The Amplified Bible

Neither is new wine put in old wineskins; for if it is, the skins burst and are torn in pieces, and the wine is spilled and the skins are ruined. But new wine is put into fresh wineskins, and so both are preserved.
Wuest’s Expanded Translation

Neither do they just put-made wine into worn-out wineskins. Otherwise, the wineskins burst and the wine is poured out and the wineskins are ruined. But they put just-made wine into wineskins new in quality, and both are preserved from perishing.
Phillips’ Modern English

Nor do people put wine into ole wineskins – otherwise the skins burst, the wine is spilt and skins are ruined. But they put new wine into new skins and both are preserved.”
Williams’ Language of the People

Nobody pours new wine into old wine – bottles; or, if they do, the bottles burst, the wine runs out, and the bottles are ruined. But people pour new wine into new wine-bottles, and so both are preserved.”
