Luke 12:15

Greek/English Interlinear with Strong’s Numbers

King James Version

And He said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man’s life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.
New King James Version

And He said to them, “Take heed and beware of covetousness, for one’s life does not consist in the abundance of the things he possesses.”
New American Standard Bible

And He said to them, “Beware, and be on your guard against every form of greed; for not even one when one has an abundance does his life consist of his possessions.”
New International Version

Then He said to them, “Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; a man’s life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions.”
The Amplified Bible

And He said to them, Guard yourselves and keep free from all covetousness (the immoderate desire for wealth, the greedy longing to have more); for a man’s life does not consist in and is not derived from possessing overflowing abundance or that which is over and above his needs.
Wuest’s Expanded Translation

And He said to them, Take heed and be guarding yourself from every kind of greed desire for more, because not in the sphere of that which is in super abundance enjoyed by anyone is his life to be found, from the source of his possessions.
Phillips’ Modern English

And then, turning to the disciples, He said to them, “Notice that, and be on your guard against covetousness in any shape or form. For a man’s real life in no way depends upon the number of his possessions.”
Williams’ Language of the People

And then He said to them, “Be ever on the alert and always on your guard against every form of greed, because a man’s life does not consist in his possessions, even though they are abundant.”
