But whoso keepeth His word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in Him. |
But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him. |
but whoever keeps His word, in him the love of God has truly been perfected. By this we know that we are in Him; |

But if anyone obeys His word, God’s love is truly made complete in him. This is how we know we are in Him. |
But he who keeps (treasures) His Word [who bears in mind His precepts, who observes His message in its entirety], truly in him has the love of and for God been perfected (completed, reached maturity). But this we may perceive (know, recognize, and be sure) that we are in Him: |
But whoever habitually with a solicitous care is keeping His word, truly, in this one the love of God has been brought to its completion with the present result that it is in that state of completion. In this we have an experiential knowledge that in Him we are. |

In practice, the more a man learns to obey God’s laws, the more truly and fully does he express his love for Him. Obedience is the test of whether we really live “in God” or not. |
but whoever practices obedience to His message really has a perfect love of God in his heart. By this we can be sure that we are in union with Him: |
