2 John 9

Greek/English Interlinear with Strong’s Numbers

King James Version

Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.
New King James Version

Whoever transgresses and does not aide in the doctrine of Christ does not have God. He who abides in the doctrine of Christ has both the Father and the Son.
New American Standard Bible

Anyone who goes too far and does not abide in the teaching of Christ, does not have God; the one who abides in the teaching, he has both the Father and the Son.
New International Version

Anyone who runs ahead and does not continue in the teaching of Christ does not have God; whoever continues in the teaching has both the Father and the Son.
The Amplified Bible

Any one who runs on ahead [of God] and does not abide in the doctrine of Christ – who is not content with what He taught – does not have God; but he who continues to live in the doctrine (teaching) of Christ – does have God; he has both the Father and the Son.
Wuest’s Expanded Translation

Everyone who goes beyond the limits [of true doctrine] and does not remain in the aforementioned teaching with reference to the Christ does not possess God. The one who remains in the aforementioned teaching, this one possesses both the Father and the Son.
Phillips’ Modern English

The man who is so “advanced” that he is not content with what Christ taught, has in fact no god. The man who bases his life on Christ’s teachings, however, has both the Father and the Son.
Williams’ Language of the People

No one has God, who goes too far and fails to stay by the teaching of Christ. Whoever stays by this teaching has the Father and the Son.
