Romans 14:14

Greek/English Interlinear with Strong’s Numbers

King James Version

I know, and am persuaded by the Lord Jesus, that there is nothing unclean of itself: but to him that esteemeth any thing to be unclean, to him it is unclean.
New King James Version

I know and am convinced by the Lord Jesus that there is nothing unclean of itself; but to him who considers anything to be unclean, to him it is unclean.
New American Standard Bible

I know and am convinced in the Lord Jesus that no thing is unclean in itself; but to him who thinks anything to be unclean, to him it is unclean.
New International Version

As one who is in the Lord Jesus, I am fully convinced that no food (or, nothing) is unclean in itself. But if anyone regards something as unclean, then for him it is unclean.
The Amplified Bible

I know and am convinced (persuaded) as one in the Lord Jesus, that nothing is [forbidden as] essentially unclean (defiled and unholy in itself). But [none the less] it is unclean (defiled and unholy) to anyone who thinks it is unclean.
Wuest’s Expanded Translation

I am convinced, and I say this as in the presence of the Lord Jesus, that nothing is intrinsically unholy. But none the less it is unholy to the man who thinks it is.
Phillips’ Modern English

I know, and through my union with the Lord Jesus I have a clear conviction, that nothing is unclean in itself; that a thing is unclean only to the person who thinks it unclean.
