But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.
New King James Version

But if you are without chastening, of which all have become partakers, then you are all illegitimate and not sons.

But if you are without discipline, of which all have become partakers, then you are illegitimate children and not sons.

If you are not disciplined (and everyone undergoes discipline), then you are illegitimate children and not true sons.
